Research interests
Our lab studies plant ecophysiological processes related to nutrient, water, and carbon cycling of crops and cropping systems as affected by environmental conditions, management practices, diseases and crop traits. Understanding how crop characteristics (genetic traits) interact with environmental conditions to affect physiological processes such as photosynthesis and nutrient uptake has the potential to lead to plant improvements that optimize plant productivity and enhance managed ecosystem services. Our research attempts to integrate information over various levels of organization from the biochemical to the ecosystem level.
Positions availableI am currently looking for a part-time help (student or OPS) during the coming fall semester. Hours would be flexible and would be somewhere around 6-10 hours per week. The student would help with peanut harvests in the field at PSRU in Citra and assist with processing plants back at the lab. The student would also assist with planting biofuel crops at Citra and maybe at other sites. The student would also be expected to help out with other lab and teaching related activities as needed. Students in Agronomy/Plant Science desired but others with appropriate experience will be considered. Salary will be $8.00-$9.00/hr commensurate with experience. Please contact me (see above) for further information.
